Murmur of Love, a poem by Robert A. Sieczkiewicz

Murmur of LoveLes Murmures de l’Amour, William-Adolphe Bouguereau (1889)

Murmur of Love

It is true, is he who loves only you.
Is more than simple infatuation.
His greatest desire your heart to imbue.
Without your love his life will be barren.

Here you sit in quiet isolation,
With empty water jar dressed all in white.
In your heart there must be desolation.
Why resist the fire he wants to ignite.

Only a fool would not give love a chance.
You will never know when his fire shall fade.
Thoughts of him places you in a love trance,
So why is it that you are so afraid?

Have some courage and feel his loving touch
Hear his soft words, “I love you very much.”
