Love’s Night, a poem by Robert A. Sieczkiewicz

Love's NightAt Rest, Vlaho Bukovac (1909)

Love’s Night

Saturated with scent of new mowed hay,
Morning dew giving way to a new day.
In solitude I do quietly lay,
Wondering if a reason cannot stay.

To linger a precious moment longer,
Recapture a picture I have of you.
Now in sight my body begins to stir,
It is you flawless beauty that I view.

Fully extended hand I touch the sheet.
I close my eyes, can feel your body’s heat.
It was your love that made last night complete.
This moment now your love again I seek.

Oh the loving feelings that you excite,
Having you lying with me every night.
