Oh My Nightingale, a poem by Robert A. Sieczkiewicz

Oh My Nightingale

Oh My Nightingale

In the darkness of this warm summer night
I hear you singing a beautiful song
Its melody is a perfect delight
Prepared to listen to you all night long

You are perched on the balcony above
With no attention that I am so near
Sweet nightingale you are my ladylove
Moving closer to see as well as hear

The candlelight glows in the bed chamber
Capturing pictures as you preen with care
Visions and sounds ever to remember
For now I am but limited to stare

To be able to climb the thorny vine
With both hands to totally embrace you
So all your songs sung will be only mine
And that one day soon you would love me too
