Oh So Close, a poem by Robert A. Sieczkiewicz

Sleepy Nicolle, c. 1900, Mary Cassatt

Oh So Close

Oh my mother dear
Please keep me so near
Ever, ever close
So that I may hear
A comforting sound
The gentle beating
Of your loving heart
Let me feel the warmth
Of your loving touch
It is only you
I shall love so much
Many years from now
I know we will part
But you’ll ever be
So close in my heart

Husband, Father, Grandfather, Lover of all beautiful things. I love to read and write poetry. My favorite hangouts are libraries and museums and yet I love being outdoors. I am a dreamer of things that could be.
