Old Man in Prayer, Rembrandt van Rijn (c. 1630)
Old Man in Prayer, Robert A Sieczkiewicz
Closing my eyes, I do struggle to see.
Scent of your rose does not help to recall,
A tender face from a past memory.
Ago you in my heart I did install.
When I dream, in my mind they seldom last.
Those that stay I’m in a field fully grassed.
Need to seek a way my dreams to recast,
To see life filled with beauty in my past.
Is it possible that we never met?
But a vision, in my mind I did set
If true, how can a vision I forget?
It must have been a desire to regret.
Should your being be not another myth,
Then it is you I desire to be with.
