Sitting on a park bench this summer day
Studying all creatures who passed my way
Some in my sight provided great delight
While other I shivered in fearful fright
Saw a man who I thought wore but one sleeve
Getting closer realized I’m naive
Skin was of unorganized coloring
A sign of his political leaning?
He traveled with a young woman of rings
Silver colored rings piercing many things
Distorting much of my view of her face
Are they harshly pinned to another place?
Knowing not why their bodies they debase
Do they think their bodies be a disgrace
I think it lies beneath their shallow skin
For it is self-worth that begins within
