Clay, a poem by Robert A. Sieczkiewicz

I’m on barren ground
Walking, not making a sound
The path is not straight
Where it leads me I don’t know
My speed shall be very slow

Eyes toward the sky
Deep thoughts of wondering why
The darkness above
An omen of what’s to come
My life’s tale ad nauseam

Yet I’ll carry on
If heavily rained upon
As there’s no reason
I should be eager to stay
For I am but simple clay
