Swept Off My Feet, a poem by Robert A. Sieczkiewicz

Metabolism, Edvard Munch 1898

Swept Off My Feet

Remembering the first time we did meet
Not in favor of infatuation
Regrettably she swept me off my feet

My staring, an auspicious way to greet
Providing a sign of adulation
Remembering the first time we did meet

Her full smile really turned up the heat
Dissolving traces of inhibition
Regrettably she swept me off my feet

Not yet ready to admitting defeat
Focus, what’s needed is concentration
Remembering the first time we did meet

Failed miserably trying to be discrete
I was filled with fear and consternation
Regrettably she swept me off my feet

Social defenses used were obsolete
My life as known is now completely done
Remembering the first time we did meet
Regrettably she swept me off my feet
