A Moment With You

A Moment With You, a poem by Robert A. Sieczkiewicz

These aging eyes of mine now tire too soon
While studying the beauty before me
All worldly things now appear to be seen
As would the brightest roundest yellow moon
If I peer through the summer’s leaf-filled tree

It’s when both my eyes are completely closed
That your beauty becomes vividly clear
Looking and hearing countless memories
Gathered through the years now safely enclosed
In my heart, where they will always be near

The future is not something that I seek
Now when your loving lips and mine do meet
Just hold you so the present can’t escape
Feeling the warmness of your silken cheek
Your closeness makes my yearning heart replete
